Navratri Special Kasha

Kasha is a dish made of any kind of grains boiled in water or milk, possibly with additives, i.e. porridge. It refers to porridge in general and can be made from buckwheat or any gluten free cereal. This dish is an excellent choice for celiac’s disease and during fasting. This dish will keep your blood glucose levels stable and your energy levels upbeat.

Ingredients:

  • Roasted buckwheat- 2 tbsp
  • Tulsi seeds- ½ tsp
  • Milk- ½ cup
  • Water- ¾ cup
  • Shredded coconut- 1 tbsp
  • Raisins- 5-6 nos
  • Cinnamon- ¼ tsp
  • Grated apple- 1 no

Method:

  1. Combine the buckwheat, chia, milk, water and cinnamon into a bowl. Let it sit overnight in the fridge to allow seeds to soften.
  2. Add one grated apple and coconut. Cook over low heat for 5 Minutes until thick and creamy.
  3. Add more water or milk if needed.
  4. Serve with raisins.
