Moong Dal Toast


  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • Wheat bread
  • ½ tsp jeera
  • ½ tsp green chilies
  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp coriander
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste


  • Soak the dal in water for 4-5 hours.
  • Strain the water and grind the dal in a mixer. Add little water to get the consistency of a batter.
  • Add jeera, green chilies, ginger, coriander, red chili powder and salt.
  • Batter is ready now.
  • Heat the dosa pan.
  • Dip the slices of bread in the batter and toast until it turns to golden brown color.
  • Serve hot with green mint chutney.
