Oats and Atta Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup atta (whole wheat flour)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Method:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine oats, atta, and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients (oats, atta, baking soda) to the wet mixture and mix until well combined.
  • The dough should come together and be slightly sticky.
  • Take small portions of the dough and roll them into balls.
  • Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon or your fingertips.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5 -10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies turn golden brown.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Enjoy your homemade oats and atta cookies with a cup of tea or coffee!

Feel free to adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less powdered sugar. You can also add nuts or chocolate chips to the dough for extra flavor and texture if desired.
